5 New Non-Traditional Christmas Songs You'll Love

A while back I posted new Christmas and Hanukkah songs to help you get over the tedium of old and boring carols we are forced to endure. Well I am back with a few more to listen to as you unwrap your presents this year.

The first video is a little longer than most, but well worth your time. It reminds me of old school xmas specials, only with people I find entertaining instead of boring. I have to give Will Ferrell And John C. Reilly credit, they actually sound pretty good with their singing and impressions of David Bowie and Bing Crosby. If you want to just skip to the part where they sing Peace on Earth & The Little Drummer Boy, it's at the 2:10 mark, but I'd watch the whole thing. It's Wednesday, what else do you have to do?

4 more Christmas songs and 2 bonus features after the jump.

I used to love clever beer commercials. Unfortunately, there haven't really been any good ones recently. At least Grolsch & the Swingtop Philharmonic Orchestra is trying this year by coming up with a xmas themed ad. The is one of the better uses of empty bottles I've seen, but I sure hope all the ones they used to make the "popping" sounds went to good use. I'd hate to think it was just dumped down a drain somewhere. I don't know about you, but I would definitely have signed up for the beer-drinking position if there was a help wanted ad for it somewhere.

The next entry is a mashup of epic proportions. Ever wonder what happened if The Police joined forces with a Christmas classic? Wonder no more, because it's a reality. I bring you Rudolph (You Don't Have To Put On The Red Light). A couple years ago I went and watched The Cops perform at Wrigley Field from a rooftop across the street. It was all you can eat/drink and I was determined to take advantage. A friend Lauren and I decided that playing the Roxanne drinking game was a must. I selfishly chose "Roxanne" did her the courtesy of taking "Roxanne" since it's said a few more times than "Red Light." Little did I know, Sting was going to go on a 3 minute remix in the middle and say "Roxanne" no less than 25 times in that span. Needless to say, I was a little wobbly when walking away from that show. Probably not the best idea for a rooftop.

I think/hope we are to the end of the Antoine Dodson movement, but this was still too good not to share. We all can agree that the best use of the song Carol of the Bells was in the movie Home Alone, but an a cappella group at the Liberty University Christmas Coffeehouse comes in at a close second though. Hopefully this will be the last bed intruder related post that ever appears on The Flint Skinny.

I'll go ahead and warn you now so I don't forget, you are going to want your headphones or co-workers with a sense of humor for this one. The classic song O Holy Night has been revamped, and it's more appropriate for my Hump Day Post than it is a Christmas album. What is it you ask? If you guessed that a guy changed every single word in the song to "penis," then you win the prize! Psychiatric help. Seriously, why would you possibly guess that? I actually found this song to be much more pleasant than I expected. I assumed the novelty would wear off after 30 seconds, but I ended up listening to the entire song. I smell a Grammy for this guy.

As with any good DVD, there are extras to this post. When I watched the first video I was reminded of the last time I heard the angelic voice of Will Ferrell. The man is one hell of an opera singer. If you didn't see Step Brothers, you should either leap from a tall building...or just move it to the top of your Netflix queue.

And what would the final scene of Step Brothers be without the music video that got Prestige Worldwide off the ground? In 2009, MTV awarded Huff 'N Doback the VMA for best rap song ever written for their song Boats & Hoes. Can't argue fact.
