Several Year In Review Videos For Your Audio/Visual Enjoyment

It's that time again when "year in review" type posts become very popular. I haven't really dabbled too much in such things, but I did do a post last year about the videos that helped me pass the time in 2009. They are all one that I watched an absurd number of times, not just what was popular. I will most likely do that again, and perhaps a summary of some of the better memes. Until then though, I figure I might as well share some of the work other people have done.

Youtube just released their list of most watched videos in 2010. I liked 6 out of the 10 of these videos, so apparently I run with the crowd. They came up with some clever stuff about what the top ten suggests about what was happening in the past year, but overall the video is mediocre. Yeah, I just admitted to giving you something I find mediocre, get over it.

Now this one is much more interesting. A guy took 270 movies (full list here) from this year and remixed them into 6 quick minutes of cinematic genius. Given that I have exclusive access to films, I have actually seen a fair amount of these. Well, I've seen 46 so far and that seems like an excessive number of movies. Plus, my 2 week hiatus from work is coming up so there are three I plan to see in theaters and another 5 or so I'll watch at home. Yes, your thought is correct, I do need to get a life. But then what would you read when you're bored at work?

Unlike Youtube who appear to be a bunch of lazy asses, Gawker went ahead and put together a much better list of this years viral videos. They compiled the 100 best moments and slammed them all into 3 minutes. That's withing your attention span right? Unfortunately the copywrite nazis are out so this one may get taken down. If so, head to gawker for the post. They also have the full list of videos if you are interested.

If you frequent The Flint Skinny, which you should, you can probably guess what I am waiting for though. These videos are all well and good, but nothing compares to a good DJ Steve Porter remix. I've seen all the videos, so while I appreciate the compilations people make, I love seeing them used in a new way...preferably in conjunction with some hot jams. If you don't remember, he had a video "That Really Happened" last year to sum up 2009, and here it is for your visual stimulation. Watching this makes '09 seem like ages ago.

If by some miracle you are still bored after that all that, I'd highly recommend checking out my Videos That Got Us Through Through 2009 post. I've since changed the layout so some of the videos are a little inappropriately sized, and there is no way I am taking the time to go through and change them all. I did however ensure that they all work for you. Like a good neighbor, Flint Skinny is there.
